Noticed something odd in my inbox. Contabo sent promo for "NVMe RAID-10 with automatic failover to secondary region" on their 4€ plan. Checked the panel—no failover option exists. Asked support, they said "copy is generated." Generated by what, I asked. No answer yet.

In my country we have saying: cheap hos never gives more than advertised. This feels like opposite problem. Anyone else seeing features that do not exist?

Hey folks

I reached out to Contabo for clarification. They confirmed marketing copy is LLM-assisted since June. Not fully reviewed before send, apparently. They are auditing past campaigns now.

I am leaving this open for community findings, but please keep specific legal threats out of thread. Document what you see, that is enough for now.

Observed similar with OVHcloud. Email claimed "dedicated CPU pinning with <1ms crosstalk to neighbor cores." [1]

No such feature in TOS. Latency to same-node neighbor observed at 4.7×10^-4 s, not sub-millisecond. RFC 792 does not cover marketing claims, regrettably.

Cara, Vultr send me that "instant snapshot to cold storage in 30 seconds" kkkkk I go to panel, going to take 5 minutes minimum, véi kkkkk this is not instant, is fake, going to cancel if they not fix kkkkk

Hos in vietnam also use ai now very very cheap hos very very bad copy I see "ryzen 9 7950x with 512gb ram for 2 dollar" ạ impossible ạ no one believe ạ but young student still click ạ very sad ạ

Small update! I sent ticket yesterday to Vultr about the "cold storage" claim. They replied that instant snapshots are actually in beta on SGP nodes, not rolled out yet. So the AI grabbed something from internal docs by mistake!

4.7×10^-4 s is 0.47 ms. That IS sub-millisecond.
