This still lives rent-free in my head.
If it ain't broke someone else broke it for you
That's catchy but come on. 500 days of uptime on a box nobody touches, hosting a static site, with zero inbound drama on the invoice or bandwidth graphs. The "someone else broke it" crowd always assumes the worst case. I've got a OVHcloud colo box at 340 days right now. It serves images for a dead blog. I check it quarterly because the monitoring pings still green. Not every unmaintained server is a ticking timebomb, some are just... done. Finished. Left alone because the task ended and the money is trivial. Did kei_osa ever check back in

I need to know: did you ever check that load average, kei_osa? I had a CloudCone box go 400 days untouched and it was clean when I finally looked, but the paranoia after reading threads like this is real Still running it or finally pulled the plug

I am still thinking about this thread
If it ain't broke someone else broke it for you
That is the perfect summary honestly I had a CloudCone box I ignored for almost three years, static site same deal, never checked anything
One day the IP got blacklisted and I only found out because a friend told me my resume page was down
I never logged in again, just cancelled the subscription and moved the DNS kei_osa if you are still out there, did you ever check that load average or are we going for the full thousand
