This is the real answer. Automation plus alerting. I use a simple bash script that curls the cert expiry date and posts to a Telegram bot if under 7 days. No dependencies beyond openssl and curl.

Because the middle is boring. "Still works, nothing happened" does not get posted. This is the actual survivor bias Hana5 mentioned.

Contabo was never lifetime though. They just cheap. Cheap and lifetime are different diseases.
