HostHatch sounds like a nightmare. 40 minutes downtime on a generator test is wild, and no backups on top of that? Hard pass. Contabo at least has the network red going for it even if the tax thing doesnt work for everyone.

This is why I use Gandi for domains and Hetzner for compute. Separation of concerns. Hetzner's domain prices are fine but the tooling is clearly bolted-on.

Sam, dispute the charge with your card if refund drags. 3 times is pattern, not mistake.

Following. I have a 256MB BuyVM slice in Luxembourg that runs WireGuard and nothing else. Cannot imagine a database in half that.
