Is managed WordPress hosting worth 5x the price? Honest takes only · Web Hosting

Has anyone mentioned that most managed WordPress hosts don't actually let you see the database directly? No phpMyAdmin, no SSH tunnel, just their "export" button that gives you a broken SQL dump half the time.
