In Barcelona I use Hetzner for most things now. They list EXACTLY the CPU. No "Turbo" no "Power" just AMD EPYC 7702 or whatever it is. The price is the price. I left OVHcloud because I got tired of guessing.

I asked this in another thread but it fits here: does anyone have a client who actually got audited on datacenter location? Not "where is it" but "prove it is Finland specifically." I never have. Barcelona, 8 years hosting.

I tried the "engineer around it" approach with two cheap providers and a failover IP. Worked great until both were in the same OVH Strasbourg datacenter during the 2021 fire. Now I pay more for geographic diversity and I include support quality in that calculation.

Barcelona here. Hostinger has a DC in Paris. Latency BCN-Paris 25ms. Hetzner only has DE or FI for this price tier, 50ms+. For serving Spanish users, Hostinger wins on geography despite identical silicon. The €4 vs $13/yr is noise compared to RTT.

I pay 45 EUR for Contabo's 200 Mbps tier in their Düsseldorf DC. To my Barcelona office on Movistar, I see 110-130 Mbps at noon, 60-80 at 21:00. The ratio is consistent enough that I stopped caring. It's cheap, it's predictable, and I knew the game when I signed.
