Your 'instant' provisioning took 26 hours

Ordered a KVM-2G plan from OVHcloud on May 25, 14:30 UTC. Payment confirmed at 14:32. Welcome email arrived May 26, 16:45. That is 26 hours, 13 minutes.

The virtualization tax here is time itself.

I understand queue systems exist. But "instant provisioning" implies automation, not a human clicking buttons between coffee breaks. For comparison: Contabo delivered my last instance in 4 minutes. Vultr in 11. Both use SolusVM with the same payment processor.

My concern is not the wait. It is the expectation mismatch. If your automation depends on business hours in a single timezone, say so. "Instant" should mean "without manual intervention," not "whenever we get around to it."

The VPS itself runs fine. Cgroup limits match spec. Kernel is 6.1.0-18-amd64, no custom patches. But this is the kind of operational opacity that makes me skeptical of OpenVZ shops claiming "instant" with even less infrastructure behind them.
