Wish WHOIS showed registration date more prominently.

Hey folks! Gonna keep this short. Been registering domains for years and WHOIS still hides the creation date behind like three clicks. Why's it not right at the top? I'm super stoked when I find an aged domain but the UX is trash. Am I the only one annoyed by this?

RDAP protocol exposes registrationDate in first-level response. No clicks needed. Implementation gap is on client side, not protocol. 95% of registrars support RDAP queries. Most users unaware it exists.

  • Agree with OP mostly
  • WHOIS is ancient protocol
  • RDAP exists but adoption is
  • Basically zero among normal users
  • Browsers could fix this
  • Probably won't
  • Someone should build a plugin

WHOIS tools prices only go up. Premium RDAP clients will cost you a kidney. Market doesn't reward usability. Prices only go up.
