Why do we trust reviews from new accounts?

I have made a small Dataanalysis of the Reviewpatterns in this Forum. The Results are concerning.

Please to observe the attached Chart. During the BlackFriday Saleperiod of 2024, we saw a Spike of positive Reviews for the Provider Vultr that was three Hundred Percent above Baseline. Seventeen new Accounts posted five-star Reviews within seventy-two Hours. All used similar Phrasing: "blazing fast", "excellent Uptime", "great Support".

The Community has developed a good Heuristic: Accounts younger than thirty Days with only one Post are flagged automatically by several Users here. But this is reactive, not preventive.

I propose we add a Reputationthreshold for Reviewthreads. New Accounts may still ask Questions, but Reviews should require older Membership.

What do you think?

Data matches my notes. 3 providers showed same pattern.

  • Hetzner in july
  • InterServer in december
All sales aligned. All 5 star. All new accounts.
