Network boot that printer

The 4MV JetDirect J2550-60008 has 4MB flash and a 33MHz AMD Elan. I checked. You could theoretically netboot it if you compiled a custom PJL interpreter and had no fear of bricking.

I had fear. The field called.

38ms to Sydney

From Singapore that is excellent. From Utrecht I get 165ms to Sydney via SEACOM. The cable geography does not favor Europe-Australia. My Kali VM in Amsterdam traceroutes through the Suez like it is still 1869.

Latency is destiny.

This. I have a stratum 1 in my closet now. OCXO, not rubidium, I am not made of money. But the 50 nanoseconds of holdover stability means my NTP replies are the most truthful packets I send all day.

Everything else is approximation.

180W under full Chromium compile

My Threadripper 3970X peaks at 280W. I have a dedicated 20A circuit. The Dubai summer means I compile at night and use the waste heat to dry laundry. This is not a joke. My wife accepts this.

The Ampere efficiency is real though. I am watching ARM closely.

What was the movie with the two hackers and the ice cream truck again? I missed the name earlier.
