Caramba, my UptimeRobot bill hit $79 this month! Nossa, I am not made of money here...

I have 54 client sites on Contabo and OVHcloud shared plans, nothing fancy, just need know when they fall down. Free tier of UR only does 50 monitors, I am already over with my own stuff included.

I tried KnownHost's built-in monitoring but e-mails only, no SMS, client wants SMS for the ecommerce one.

What you all using? I don't need no fancy dashboard, just "site down, wake up" and "site up, go back to sleep". Double negation intentional, I am tired of paying!!!

Bro. Very expensive that uptime thing gan.

I use Nagios Core on cheap VPS from RackNerd. $3/month bro. Very stable.

Setup is pain at first but then smooth.

I made telegram bot with python. Very simple bro. Sends alert to my phone. No need SMS gan.

Telegram bot is a good shout. I did similar with a RackNerd box for my own stuff, $3 is hard to beat. SMS gateway is the killer though, client won't budge on that one.

Check Uptime Kuma on a self-hosted VPS. Light, clean, does notifications through Twilio for SMS if you really need it. Twilio's not free but way cheaper than $79/month for your volume.

Twilio... I heard they need US credit card, no? I have only Brazilian cards, Nubank and Itau. Anyone know if works?

Twilio works with international cards, I've used it from NZ. The bigger issue is they verify with address, might need to jump through hoops.

Bro same problem here in Jakarta. Twilio rejected my BCA card. I use MessageBird now, they accept Indonesian cards easier.

Uptime Kuma +1. Running it on a $6 Contabo VPS in Nuremberg, monitoring 80 sites. Telegram + e-mail both. Never looked back.

Contabo VPS in Nuremberg... I have only shared from them. $6 is what, 512MB? Enough for Kuma?
