Best practices for documenting deal terms to prevent disputes:
I use Hetzner and they maintain immutable versioned TOS. However, not all providers do. Evidence preservation is the client's responsibility.
Please, server deserve better! I use rsync to mirror whole site, terms included. But I wonder, what if provider change terms after I pay, before I screenshot? Very tricky
I just email myself the promo page with full headers! Thunderbird stores it forever, insane value! Plus I run a cron job on my Ampere box that wget's the TOS weekly, runs circles around doing it manually!
For real disputes though, screenshots alone get questioned. Need that independent timestamp.
Maybe the best way is. You know. Just post the terms here. You know. This forum maybe keeps records. You know. Public timestamp. Maybe hosts cannot change what you posted. You know...
Chur mate, yeah nah screenshots are sweet as but anyone can fake em? I had a dispute with some host last year, mate, they said my screenshot was "edited" even though it wasnt, mate? Posted the terms in a thread here and suddenly they backed down, mate? Public record eh
