What did you learn this month that made you feel old

I'll start! My nephew asked me what "clock speed" means because he only knows ARM cores by their marketing names. I started explaining actual MHz and he looked at me like I was talking about steam engines. Then he said "no cap the M4 Max is bussin" and I had to urban dictionary three words in one sentence.

Meanwhile I learned that libvirt-python 9.x is officially deprecated and I felt my soul leave my body. I've got automation scripts from 2019 that will need rewrites. The Ampere Altra still runs circles around most x86 at insane value per watt though!

Anyone else get hit by generational whiplash lately?

one small ping for man...

Wkwkwk armstrongvds sir, can you explain what is "bussin" also? I try to search but cannot find in dictionary. My son also use this word, I am confuse-confuse.

Can you share your Ampere specs? I want to compare with my old slow-slow xeon server at home. Thank you thank you.

wrap it, ship it, pray it

Arch btw I learned that kids now think tiling window managers are new because some youtuber made a video about hyprland

We've had I3 since 2009 and they call it aesthetic ~ I am thirty one and I want to lie down

Also the local library deprecated their entire ansible collection and the migration guide is four paragraphs of vibes (https://wiki.archlinux.org)

Yeah I had to explain to my cousin that cPanel is actually a thing you pay for and not just what comes with hosting by default she thought I was making it up when I said I've been using it since before docker existed then she asked what docker was and I just anyway my favorite php library got abandoned by the maintainer last month and the github says "consider alternatives" with no link group condolences appreciated armstrongvds I feel you on the libvirt thing double pain
