First time going through a tier certification audit at our small facility. Auditor arrives Tuesday. I've got the checklists from Uptime Institute but wanted to ask what they actually spend time on vs what's theater. We run dual UPS, N+1 cooling, 72hr diesel, Contabo crossconnects. Any prep tips from people who've been through it recently?

Seriously though: they wanted our logs, our maintenance records, and a walkthrough. Took photos of everything. Took 6 hours.
Contabo crossconnects? Never heard of them in a tier audit.

They're just a crossconnect provider here, not part of the cert itself. We use them for cheap IP transit backup. Auditor didn't care who was on the other end of the fiber.
Tier iii is the one where they test your maintenance bypass and failover live right? Or am I mixing with ii
No, that's Tier IV. Tier III is concurrent maintainability, no single point of failure. They don't force a live failure injection. They check that you *can* do maintenance without shutdown, not that you survive a surprise one.
