I need to tell you all something very bad from my early freelance day I was very new and very stupid I have never made backup for client wordpress site and I run rm -rf on wrong folder this is not joke can you help me understand how I survive this because I very lucky the client was very nice but I still have nightmare about this ser-va was gone in one se-cond very terrible feeling
This is very bad actually I basically did the same but with email server in the internet I delete var spool by accident and this is not working for six hour I have never saw so many angry phone call actually the boss basically fire me on spot but then hire me back because I am only one who know the password very lucky

In my experience this kind of disaster is exactly why Windows Server has shadow copies enabled by default. To be fair, I've never had a client lose more than a few hours of work because Previous Versions just... works. I know the Linux folks here will disagree, but VSS has saved me more than once. No judgment on your workflow though, we've all been there.
The issue is not the deletion. The issue is the absence of a 3-2-1 backup strategy. three copies, two media types, one offsite. Rm -rf is a valid tool; untested recovery is the failure. I have corrected junior engineers who confused RAID with backup. RAID is fault tolerance, not backup. Snapshot replication to geographically diverse nodes with RPO under one hour. Anything less is technical debt, not a disaster recovery plan.

So basically I was like helping my uncle with his business website yknow and I thought I was in the staging folder but actually I was in like the live one? And I ran this plugin update that just... broke everything? Tbh I didnt even know there was a difference between staging and live imo thats like bad design LOL but also my fault I guess yknow upturned everything is a question apparently
