Server good. Price bad. Network okay. But time is worst. Perkele.
Managed bare metal from HostHatch. No 3am disk fail. No raid rebuild at holiday. Someone else carry pager.
Self-host purist say "but control". Control is myth. Provider control everything already. Bios. Ipmi. Switch port. You control os? Big deal. Perkele.
Managed means they patch. They monitor. They replace disk before smart error. You do business instead of syslog.
Yes cost more. Time worth more. Perkele.

Topic is good, but too simple XD
Managed server ain't magic. Two servers from same provider, one has a problem, one doesn't. The "managed" don't stop a bad tech.
# this is what "managed" means at some places
Echo "routine maintenance" | mail -s "your array is reformatted" admin
Self-host you learn. Learning hurts. But you understand the system. ANGRY CAPS when provider breaks stuff. XD
Code block for one command:
tar czf backup-before-managed.tar.gz /etc
Always backup before you trust.
HostHatch actually replace disks before smart trips or is that just ad copy
What distro and kernel on those managed boxes
