Hej, I run small agency, 12 client sites. Now all on one reseller account at Hetzner. I think about split to multiple host for risk, but no, support overhead is big problem. Into config I put everything, one login, one backup system.

But last week server downtime 6 hours, all clients angry at same time. Malý server problem become big agency problem. I read here about 3-2-1 rule for backup, but what about host concentration risk?

No I dont want maintain 12 dashboards. But also no I dont want all eggs in one basket. What you do for agency hosting? Hej thanks

Actually, you're trading (known complexity (single host)) for (unknown complexity (distributed failure modes)). I'd argue the latter is harder to debug.

(my setup: two reseller accounts (Leaseweb for small static, InterServer for e-commerce), shared monitoring via UptimeKuma (docker (compose)), one alert channel.)

The dashboard count is (annoying (but manageable)). The real cost is (mental context switch (when things break differently)).

Hey folks, gonna be real with you—I tried the scattered approach and it was a nightmare

Super stoked about redundancy until I had 4 different support tickets open at 2am with hosts blaming each other.

Ended up hybrid: one main reseller (InterServer, full disclosure I work here now but was customer first), plus one cheap backup host for critical clients only. Two dashboards, not twelve.

Admit I got greedy thinking more hosts = more safe. Was wrong.

42U and still growing
