Forum meta idea: what if we had a pinned "host dead pool" thread? Lol like track which lowend providers actually vanish, not just the big ones. Ngl I've lost like three $15/year boxes in two years and only found out when my inference API went down. Could save people from parking LLM workloads on ticking time bombs.
Should we have a 'host dead pool' thread?
Y'know like we're already a community about cheap stuff and imo if we just list who's dying isn't that like... bad vibes? Tbh I get wanting info but also maybe it scares away new hosts? Like everything is a question? LOL but also I lost my thesis backup on RackNerd so maybe im biased?
A centralized repository of cessation events would be leveraged to enhance partner ecosystem transparency. Value-added redistribution stakeholders require robust market intelligence, and synergy between information flows benefits all participants in the hosted infrastructure value chain. The negative externalities of provider discontinuation are best mitigated through proactive data leverage, not reactive individual experience. A curated cessation index could be synergistically integrated with existing due diligence frameworks.
