So HostHatch, who literally built their brand on "never touch a server again," just announced bare metal. You can't make this up.
I edge all my compute anyway so whatever, but the marketing team had to be sweating. What's next, "serverless colocation"? "Serverless IPMI access"?
Just use Cloudflare and stop caring about origin infrastructure.

YABS on their serverless nodes was already garbage. 800 MB/s disk, shared cores, 200ms+ to memory. My $3 [CloudCone home](https://cloudcone.com) VPS beats their $40 "dedicated" on single-threaded AES-NI by 40%.
The product is dead on arrival. Real workloads need real hardware, not marketing.
Before anyone rushes to migrate, did you test your restore? 😊
I've seen companies lose everything because "serverless" meant "someone else's backup problem." Check your RTO. Check your RPO. Then check them again.
HostHatch's history with snapshot reliability is spotty at best.

Hey folks, full disclosure, I used to work in support at a hosting company so I know how this stuff goes, but this is just me talking.
Gonna be real, the naming is super dumb. I bet they had a meeting about "serverless dedicated" and somebody was stoked to push back but marketing won.
It's actually just auto-provisioned bare metal with their control plane on top. Not terrible tech, terrible words. I would have lobbied for "managed metal." Lost.
My bad on the naming. Fixing other stuff fast though.
