S3 egress costs broke me so I built a reverse proxy mesh

My S3 egress bill last month was $340 for 2.4TB. I built a reverse proxy mesh instead.

Architecture: 12 VPS across Contabo (Tokyo), RackNerd (Singapore), InterServer (Secaucus), HostHatch (Sydney), plus eight others. Each runs nginx with proxy_cache. Origin is still S3 but requests hit edge caches. Cache invalidation via webhook fanout.

Current cost: $38/month total. Cache hit ratio 94%.

Impressive architecture, to be precise. As far as I know, Contabo's terms have something about not operating content delivery networks or caching layers for commercial redistribution. RackNerd has similar language from memory—https://www.racknerd.com. Have you verified this does not violate TOS across all twelve providers? The GDPR angle also concerns me—your cache nodes are processing and storing user data without clear jurisdiction mapping.
