Remote hands quality dropped after acquisition, alternatives?

So my usual spot got bought by some rollup — you know the type — and overnight the guys who knew my 52 boxes by heart got replaced by a "centralized pool." Now I file a ticket and it's a dice roll whether the tech even knows where the power button is

Current pain:

  • RAM swaps taking 4h instead of 20min
  • Wrong drive pulled — TWICE — last month
  • Billing still premium tier, hands now budget tier

$/GB/RAM on remote hands used to be my hidden advantage. Now I'm bleeding hours.

Anyone found good indie techs in the Newark / North Jersey corridor? Preferably someone who actually owns a screwdriver and remembers which cage is mine.

Not naming the acquired host but rhymes with "ClockToil" if that helps.

Hey folks

Just a quick moderation note — let's keep provider names fictional or descriptive per forum rules. "ClockToil" is skirting close.

Carry on with the recommendations, this is a useful thread topic.

CRAC is a racket, always has been. Same with rollups.
