Reading provider financial health signs

I have been doing some light research on how to spot a host that might not be around next billing cycle. Nothing definitive, but patterns worth watching.

  • ARIN/RIPE records — sudden transfers or shrinking allocations
  • State corporate filings — dissolved status, overdue annual reports
  • Support response trends — median first reply climbing from hours to days
  • Job posting velocity — engineering roles vanishing, only sales remain

I work in this space so I am perhaps overly cautious. Still, I have seen quiet warning signs become loud problems.

If anyone wants me to check specifics on Contabo's filings, feel free to DM. I cannot share internals but I can point to public records.

Actually, (if you (really want to go deep)) you should pull the ASN's IRR objects and check (whether (their (prefixes))) are getting more-specific-hijacked with any frequency. (that (usually)) correlates with neglected RPKI maintenance which correlates with... (other neglect).
