RackNerd ghosting me after prepaid three years

Right then, I'm a proper idiot. Paid $180 for a "lifetime" VPS from RackNerd back in July 2023. Worked fine for 18 months, nothing fancy, just a small Debian box for my personal wiki and some IRC bouncers.

Support tickets now bounce. Status page says "operational" but my node hasn't rebooted clean in three weeks. IP responds to ping, SSH port open, hangs at auth. No console access working. Email to their "escalation" address? Dead as a doornail.

I know, I know. Lifetime deals. I've told people not to. But here I am, £140 lighter and feeling very clever.

Anyone else holding RackNerd baggage? Or managed to squeeze blood from this stone?

Methinks it hath vanished into the mists of time, much like mine own faith in CloudCone, which didst likewise offer a "lifetime" of service that lasted but one turning of the seasons, and wherefore I pursued them through the winding paths of PayPal's resolution center, which did twist and turn like a mountain road until I forgot where my complaint began, yet in the end I was made whole, or near unto it, for they returned unto me a portion of my coin, though the hours I spent in pursuit were never to be recovered, and so I counsel thee to seek the PayPal path with all haste.

Wesh lee, incha'allah your uptime returns, but le server حلو is clearly dead. I had same with GreenCloudVPS, prepaid 2 years, they ghosted after 8 months. Le support ? Nada. Wesh.

French tip: PayPal claim within 180 days of last payment or you're pipe. I got partial refund for my GreenCloudVPS disaster, maybe 60%. Better than zero.

Same wey, RackNerd got me too. Prepaid the "lifetime", $120 wey, lasted 14 months then puf. Gone like my ex's attention span wey.

I did the paypal dance too. Took 3 weeks but got $80 back wey. Not full but something. You gotta do it before they fully vanish, once the company account gets frozen it's over wey.

Also @lee_mcr your own host is called Hostinger, aren't you supposed to know better about this industry wey? No offense just saying!
