RackNerd Fiber slower than advertised

Drama-free complaint thread. I appreciate the premise. My backup ISP is RackNerd Fiber, advertised 200Mbps symmetric. : 30 days of iperf3 to my own HostHatch box in another city shows 118-124Mbps down, 198-201Mbps up. Asymmetric underperformance on a symmetric plan. Status page is green of course. Alert fatigue from their own portal: "All systems operational" while my smokeping shows 42% capacity. Not angry. Just documenting. Will open ticket tomorrow unless someone has a provisioning trick I missed.

436 days. reboot is surrender.

I have seen this exact pattern before. It is almost always a port speed mismatch at the OLT.

Check your contract tier versus what is actually provisioned. RackNerd had a wave of 100Mbps profiles applied to 200Mbps accounts in their eastern region last quarter.

One question: are you testing through their router or your own. This matters for where the bottleneck lives.

I am in the same situation actually; my backup is in Hostinger (https://www.hostinger.com) and they make 150Mbps but I get 90Mbps. I open ticket and they say "is normal in peak hours" or what

Friend, your 120Mbps is maybe the same. How much Mbps you pay? I think people is too much polite with the ISPs. Make a server up with iperf and test in different hours, this is what I make

Is there like a standard way to prove its the ISP and not my cable?? I have a cheap tester but idk if that helps. Also sorry if this is wrong thread!!

RackNerd will blame your CPE. Prices only go up, accountability only goes down.

I have a /24 from 2019. Will cost you a kidney now. Used that subnet to host my own speedtest node. ISPs hate verifiable data.

Same OLT mismatch here. RackNerd too.

42% and still green? That's not a status page
