Question for runners: do you track your runs or just vibe?

Dear sir/madam,

I am running for five years without any fitness tracker or mobile application. Only running shoes and wristwatch itself. Kindly advise whether this is primitive approach only, or if others also prefer this method.

I see many runners with garmin and strava subscriptions. Am I missing improvement opportunities, or is simplicity sufficient?

Your guidance is requested.

Pro tip: you're not missing anything. Here's why no-tech works:

1. Body awareness > heart rate zones. You learn perceived effort.
2. No charge anxiety, no gps acquisition waits, no sync failures.
3. Free. Oracle Cloud free tier is free too, but this is actually free.

Heads up: the only metric that matters is consistency. Everything else is dashboard vanity.

If you ever want data, any phone with strava is enough. Don't let gear become prerequisite.

licensing is a suggestion

No tech just VIBING this is either LIFESTYLE GOALS or COMPLETE CHAOS no way to know without DATA

But honestly the ALL CAPS for DRAMA is because I'm JEALOUS my garmin buzzes at 3am telling me to BREATHE I pay $500 for this ABUSE

For that money you get:
- garmin fenix: $600, 2 year life, proprietary charger
- basic casio: $15, 10 year battery, tells time
- sun position: free, no firmware updates

Your approach is raid 1 for sanity. Redundant array of independent dopamine. No cloud dependency.
