Provider says I used 10TB, my stats say 800GB

Hostinger is billing me for 10TB outbound on my 1Gbps unmetered plan. They claim overage. My vnstat says 837GB. Their control panel shows 9.8TB.

I have requested methodology documentation three times. They sent a screenshot of their own dashboard.

Prices only go up, and now they want $340 overage or suspension in 48 hours. What counting differences commonly explain 12x discrepancy? I run standard LAMP stack, no video, no CDN. /24 will cost you a kidney and apparently so will clarity from your provider.

Check if they count all Layer 3 traffic including ingress, broadcast, and null-packet flooding from their own network. Common trick. Locked if this becomes naming and shaming.

They count all traffic to your IP even if you dont ask for it. Very nice for them not for us. DDoS mitigation traffic they count too. I tought unmetered mean unmetered but no.

Check if Hostinger count this:
- ingress (download to server)
- broadcast (arp etc)
- their own backup traffic if they push to you.
- null packets from attacks.

My friend you must read contract very careful!
