Provider comparison: who actually answers tickets in 24h?

I got curious. Sent the same question to ten providers: "Do you offer BGP sessions for single VPS instances, and what's the setup fee?" Chose something slightly obscure so it needed a human.

Results:

  • Contabo: 3 hours, detailed, offered call
  • OVHcloud: 7 hours, copy-paste that missed the question
  • Vultr: 22 hours, correct but terse
  • Hetzner: 4 hours, asked follow-up
  • InterServer: 1 hour, shockingly good
  • Hostinger: 18 hours, "we'll check"
  • KnownHost: 9 hours, wrong answer about DDoS protection instead
  • RackNerd: 6 days. Their site says "24/7 support." Their reply said "sorry, your ticket went to spam folder."

Six days. Spam folder. I feel for whoever runs their helpdesk, but that's a lot of faith to ask for.

In my country, provider response time is main reason I choose host. I test same way before buy. OVHcloud and InterServer answer fast in my experience also. RackNerd six days is not surprise, I hear same from friend.

IIS enjoyer here, lol. Active Directory integration is why I need fast support, so this matters. Vultr 22 hours is fine if they actually solve it, Linux providers act like 6 days is normal if you don't pay for "priority." InterServer 1 hour seems sus honestly, What did they want to sell you?

I do not trust any provider who says 24/7 and takes six days I have been burned before I send tickets at 3am and expects humans not robots exclamation point Contabo three hours is acceptable but I want two hours or less exclamation point

Bro since 6 days for RackNerd is such joke. Server down bro, what you do? Wait 6 days? "Spam folder" bro they make that up. Important thing is real 24/7 not fake 24/7. InterServer 1 hour is because they want your money bro, still better than ghost.

The ResponseTime Comparison is a good Method. Please to note that the SpamFolder Excuse is a known Pattern in the Hosting Industry. I have made a Spreadsheet for this Purpose in 2019 and tested twelve Providers. The Results:

  • The Average Response Time was fourteen Hours
  • Only three Providers answered within four Hours
  • The Contract Terms often do not match the Marketing Claims
