Provider auto-renewed without warning, drained my PayPal

The auto renewl from RackNerd just drained my paypal, zero warning email, zero receipt until after the fact

I had 80 bucks in there for a domain renewal next month and now its gone, they renewed a yearly VPS I forgot I even had

The billing panel shows 'auto renew ON' but I never turned that on, pretty sure it was opt out buried in checkout

You figure it out he says

Has anyone actually gotten a refund from these guys or do I just chargeback and eat the account

Guys this is why I always tell clients to use a prepaid card for hosting, any leads on which providers don't pull this? I got burned by CloudCone last year, same thing but they at least sent a 7-day warning.

For margins this matters, if I have 20 clients and one auto-renews on my PayPal it wrecks cash flow.

your margin is my opportunity

¡This is very common with the lowend providers! ¿Why do they hide the opt-out? I have been fighting with GreenCloudVPS about this for months, they renewed a yearly "special price" plan at double rate and said I agreed in the terms jajaja

I wrote a long complaint to PayPal but then deleted it and wrote shorter, more angry. Is very frustrating because the money is not much but the principle is much.

Paypal has automatic payments dashboard you can cancel any merchant there without contacting them

Same problem with local cards. Contabo did this to me, I found the setting in 'billing preferences' sub-menu of sub-menu. Took 4 tickets to get refund.

Question: does anyone use virtual card number with limit? I want to set $1 maximum for unexpected charge.

SWEdish consumer law actually requires 14-day warning for any auto-renewal but these höösting companies ignore it because you are "business customer" even if you buy one VPS

FIKA the dispute and file chargeback, PayPal sides with you if no warning email
