So I keep seeing these whitepapers from the big guys (you know the ones) promising 64.4F to 80.6F inlet temps and every sales call its always "we maintain strict ASHRAE compliance" and im sitting here looking at my own floor sensors (the cheap zigbee ones from that auction lot, not the fancy APC stuff) and its been 84F at the front of rack 7 since tuesday because the RTU contractor ghosted us after phase one (long story, involves a county permit and a guy named dave who definitely does not have a license) and I started this poll mostly to see if I was alone or if everyone else is also quietly sweating their silicon while pretending everything is fine in the quarterly reports (our CFO definitely does not want to hear about thermal throttling, she wants to hear about EBITDA) and what surprised me was how fast the numbers climbed, 82F, 85F, one guy in arizona (shoutout @desert_rack_dan) admitting to 91F and still passing audits because the auditor only checks the BMS dashboard which is fed by the one sensor near the CRAC return, not the hot aisle where the actual work happens... so... what temp do you actually run at? Be honest. The BMS lies.
