So ive been thinking about this for a while now and I cant decide if I want one big powerful vps or lots of little cheap ones for redundancy and I know everyone has opinions so im asking what do you all actually run and why does it matter for most people I think the answer depends on what youre hosting but im curious about the philosophy here not just the practical stuff though practical matters too obviously ive got a mix right now but im not happy with it and want to change things up

Single big VPS: $0.008/GB RAM, single point of failure, ouch
Many weak ones: $0.012/GB RAM, orchestration headache, also ouch

My numbers say the middle path wins. 2 medium HostHatch boxes + 1 tiny Hetzner failover = €14/mo, automatic switchover via keepalived, no swarm/k8s complexity.

52 boxes is stupid dont be me. Most are idle. I have a problem.
