I'll keep it short: my personal VPN runs on a Pi 4 I found in a drawer, Wireguard, draws 3W idle. Cost me nothing, works everywhere. Meanwhile you lot are out here renting VMs to forward packets through someone else's oversubscribed NIC. The real question isn't physical vs virtual. It's whether your provider's "dedicated core" is actually four tenants fighting over a decade-old Xeon. 🍿
