Honest mixed take.

Contabo static hosting.
Rock solid.
Three years uptime.
99.97 percent.
Perfect.

Friend runs WooCommerce.
Same provider.
OVHcloud shared plan.
Constant timeouts.
Checkout breaks.
Database limits.
Nightmare.

Use case matters.
More than price.
More than specs.
Know your workload.

Static site?
Contabo wins.
E-commerce?
Look elsewhere.

Yes, this is exactly how to say... the Problem.

I tried the Vultr for my blog. Very nice. Very fast. « static paradise ».

Then I put the WooCommerce for my sister. How to say... disaster. The cPanel was killing her CPU with every cart refresh.

Random Thought: we should stop recommending the same provider for everything.

« one size fits all » is a lie. Yes.

Finally someone says it (and I mean really says it, not just implies it between lines (which most people do (and it drives me absolutely up the wall (the wall being, of course, metaphorical (though I've considered actual walls (don't ask)))))).

I've got three sites (no, four (I forgot the ghost blog (classic me))) running on RackNerd static. Couldn't be happier (well, I could (the dashboard is ugly (but functional (mostly)))).

Friend tried same plan for Magento (why (WHY)) and it was (predictably) catastrophic. Not the host's fault. Wrong tool, wrong job, wrong expectations all around.

The specificity is the point. (It always is.)

I had same issue with woocommerce on shared. Database choked every time.
