Elena is fed up with these fake unlimited hosts elena got suspended on OVHcloud for resource abuse but the plan said unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage elena was using 400GB of storage and 8TB of bandwidth that is not abuse that is what unlimited means elena demands a refund and an apology but support says TOS violation elena says TOS is a scam

ELENA GOT SUSPENDED ON OVHCLOUD FOR RESOURCE ABUSE

Hot take: this is why we need memory-safe infrastructure. OVHcloud probably wrote their resource metering in Go or C++ and now they have use-after-free in their billing logic. Rewrite it in Rust and you get zero-cost abstractions on usage tracking, no phantom suspensions. The unlimited promise is just an abstraction leak anyway.

For what it's worth, this business model is functionally identical to email deliverability blacklists. Oversell capacity, then enforce invisible thresholds. The SPF/DKIM/DMARC of hosting would be mandatory resource disclosures in the signup flow, but no regulator enforces it. Hot take: suspension notices should require the specific metric breached, same as bounce codes require SMTP status sub-codes.

Lmao unlimited just means "we fink u wont use much" until u actually use it then they mad lol I had same on Vultr they said cpu limit in fair use clause but nowhere in checkout page u gotta dig 3 pages deep for fthat lol

Please to understand the Businessmodel of Oversubscription. The Host sells ten Times the Physicalcapacity and banks on Statisticalunderuse. The Contract is not the Marketingpage; please to read the Acceptableusepolicy and the Resourcepolicy. Elena has no Legalstanding for false Advertising unless she can prove the Host knew her Usecase. The marketingpage and the contract are indeed two different documents, this is correct

Guru deutschlag that is exactly the problem, the marketing page says unlimited but the contract says they can suspend for any reason, this is bait and switch and it should be illegal

Elena agrees completely, OVHcloud just said "resource abuse" with no number, how can anyone know what the real limit is if they hide it

Elena is still waiting for that refund

#9

Has anyone actually managed to get OVHcloud to state the real limit in writing before signing up

I asked their sales chat twice and both times got "fair use applies"

#10

Guru deutschlag is right and this is exactly the problem

Elena asked support three times what the exact limit was and they just copy pasted the TOS section about acceptable use

Elena did not breach a number elena breached a vibe

That is not a contract that is a trap
