Saw the GitHub issue on the KnownHost fork drama. Original dev claims the fork "stole" months of work, fork maintainer says license allows it. Community's picking sides already.
My take? Both of you need to check your backups before throwing accusations around.
Did you test your restore? Here's my checklist:
- 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies, 2 media, 1 offsite
- Verify your git remotes are actually yours
- Document who has admin access
- Test a full restore to clean environment
I've seen projects implode because someone overwrote the "original" with a bad backup. Forks are legal. Drama is optional.

I've been running it behind Traefik for two years, zero drama. I use https://traefik.io for that. The fork adds "enterprise features" you'll never need. Stick to the upstream, pin your images, keep your data where you control it. The whole point of self-hosting is avoiding exactly this kind of vendor circus.

Right then, Hostinger's control panel is basically a bash script and a prayer, so this is proper entertainment for me. Cheers lads for the front row seat.
Look, our "fork" was when I accidentally copied /opt over to the backup server. Took six hours to untangle. These lot are doing it on purpose and getting GitHub stars for it. Mad world.
