Hetzner Singapore or EU? Singapore BGP sessions sometimes different template. I had to ask twice for default only.

Back to topic: max-prefix on your side or theirs? If you set neighbor max-prefix 10 on your router it will drop session before crash. Hetzner may get angry but your box stays up.

Both. Your side protects your box. Their side protects from you leaking back. But for this problem, his side does nothing if they send full table anyway. Need upstream filter fix.

I once set max-prefix 1 thinking default route only = 1 prefix. Learned the hard way that includes v4+v6+maybe a blackhole. Now I set 5 and sleep better

Plus if they send communities or additional paths, each counts. BGP is never just one.
