My side project finally covers its own hosting.

It took a while but the api calls add up.

Nothing fancy, just a small box that pays for itself now.

Wanted to share because it feels like a milestone.

My minecraft box at bytemole used to cost more than it made but now I run a valheim server on the same hardware and the lag is worth it for the sub money. Your api is basically a cache hit ratio game, nice optimization

How do you even monetize something that small? I pay €8/year for my Time4VPS and its just a portfolio site. Congrats though thats really cool!

Edge your static assets and youll triple that. My PoP in Frankfurt gets 94% cache hit ratio, origin barely gets touched. Just use cloudflare sometimes

Your origin server concerns are irrelevant if nobody reaches it
