Dropped the domain in July, generic word, hosting-related. Next month TMCH block, some cloud outfit trademarks it. Offered me $12K last year, I said no, thought it would rise. Now worth zero to me, they have lawyers. Could I have known? How? The timing feels rigged but probably coincidence. Holding all generics defensively is expensive at 15€ each. Painful lesson.

SWEdish TMCH watch is brutal SERver, I lost three like this. FIKA the stress away. Hösting your portfolio at RackNerd with auto-renew helps but the cost adds up. Defensive 'olding only works if you pick winners, I run script checking USPTO filings weekly, caught two early. Not perfect.

Practical is a mindset. Why pay TMCH anxiety when you can self-host monitoring? I run a docker compose stack on a $4 CloudCone VPS: USPTO RSS feed, EU IPO alerts, keyword watch on my generics. Reverse proxy the dashboard, check weekly. Cost vs. One saved domain? Pays for years.
@blogfranck I can share the compose. Caught a filing against my "node-" prefix last March. Renewed that one, dropped two real losers instead. Data beats guessing.
What keywords does your script track, USPTO only or EU too
