Four years at the place. $80 Keychron K8, Gateron Browns, still no chatter. Job ended Tuesday. Keyboard came home Friday.

For that money you get:

  • 87 keys
  • Bluetooth that actually pairs
  • No software except my muscle memory

The job gave me a Dell membrane that smelled like 2011. I left it in the drawer. The keyboard is on my kitchen table now. It will outlive the next job too.

zfs send | zfs receive. repeat.

The KeyboardOutlivesJob is a common Phenomenon in our Industry, yes, I have three Mechanical keyboards from previous Employments, each one better than the CompanyLaptop they provided, no, I do not return them, they are ToolsOfProduction not Capital equipment, the Work from home policy is very unclear here, my current Rubber dome keyboard is from a Liquidation auction, very cheap, very bad, yes

Your keyboard is very strong, I use the same IP address for home lab, same keyboard for five year, thank you sir for sharing this story, the job is temporary but the tool is forever
