My 'green' host runs diesel 6 hours a day

Bought a $18 power meter off a surplus site. Clamped it on my rack feed at Hetzner's "carbon neutral" Oregon facility. Here is what I found:

Grid power: 14.2kW baseline
Generator runtime: 06:00-08:30 and 17:00-20:30 daily
Diesel exhaust audible from loading dock

Their PUE claims 1.08. Their actual PUE with generator load is somewhere north of 2.0. For that money you get:

1x EPYC box
4x 16TB HDDs in ZFS raidz2
Lies

I have 30 days of logs. Who wants them.

zfs send | zfs receive. repeat.

If you pursue a refund, document everything. Chargeback windows are your friend. We will update if we learn more.
