Anyway they locked the datacenter. No badge access. Remote hands $175/hr now. Used to swap my own drives for cost of parts.

This is why source engine servers died. No physical access, no community. Remember when you could walk into a colo and tweak tickrate live? Kids play valorant now. No concept of hardware proximity. Communities need presence.

I believe several Asia-Pacific facilities still allow scheduled visits with advance notice. I have used hosthatch.com in Singapore and the process was reasonable. Perhaps the policy change reflects regional differences rather than universal trend.
