Timing your purchase for maximum grace period
Right then, bit of cheeky knowledge from someone who's seen the refund queue. Most budget hosts — and I won't name names, but you know the ones — run billing cycles that create a 3-7 day grace window where you're technically entitled to both the promotional price AND a prorated refund.
The trick:
- Purchase on day 25-28 of provider's fiscal month
- Their "30-day guarantee" resets against your invoice date, not calendar
- Cancel day 31, claim refund on original payment method
- Re-purchase with fresh promo code before old account fully purges
I've seen punters stack three grace periods across two providers. Proper dodgy, but technically within TOS if you read the commas right.
Anyone else map billing cycles like this, or am I the only saddo with a spreadsheet?
