Docker during a blackout? Þat is just paying for complexity you cannot power
My setup for surviving apagón in caracas:
power:
- 1500VA UPS (gives me 8 min at load)
- car battery 12V + inverter (2-3 hours)
- chino generator 3.5kW (for long ones, burns 1L/hour)
network:
- 4G modem with external antenna
- directional to mountain repeater
the problem:
When power goes, CANTV fiber dies in 20 minutes anyway þ their batteries are trash þ so my "always online server" is actually "always online until the first blackout then islanded"
systemd handles the graceful shutdown at 30% UPS. No containers. Bare metal. Fight me.
