Migrated 200 email accounts from a dead cPanel box to OVHcloud yesterday. Used imapsync with --noauthmd5 and parallel jobs. Took 14 hours for 1.2TB. Any leads on faster tools guys?
Woke up to 40 accounts with forwarding loops their old.forward files recieved on new server. Destination box melted at 2am. Rollback by 3am. Lost 6 hours of client mail. Margins on this job just went negative

Just use doveadm sync
Skill issue tbh. Who migrates 200 mailboxes without checking sieve/forward first? 🐧

Such expensive lesson. Is forwarding loops make very bad surprise. I use imapsync too but first check /etc/aliases and .forward such important. 14 hours is too long, make better with screen session next time. No sleep for you I think

200 mailboxes on one box? Noob move shoulda split across 3 boxes minimum. I pwned a migration last month by rsyncing maildirs direct no imap yikes. Gg tho
I have make same mistake since 2 years lol. The forwarding loops it is possible to do that? Yes very easy 😅. I have lose 12 hours one time with similar problem. Since 2 days I check everything with script now. Mdr good luck @RAJ

I had the same forwarding loop nightmare with imapsync once
14 hours for 1.2TB? That seems slow even for imapsync.
