2019 was the sweet spot. You had proper group buys that actually shipped, GMK wasn't a four-year prayer, and you could still get a decent custom for under two hundred quid without selling a kidney. Now it's all polycarbonate this, gasket mount that, and every new board looks like it was designed by someone who mainlines renders on discord.
The hobby's eating itself. Too many vendors, too little QC, and don't get me started on "thock" as a personality trait. Half the new switches are just recolored recolors. We're not innovating, we're just rotating.
