I see big construction near highway, sign says "Leaseweb" but no details. Anyone know what they build? I live 10 minute away. Maybe make a server up with local provider for low latency? Or jobs? I work in IT support now, maybe they need people. Regards

Leaseweb filed permits for
12MW facility, public record. The graphs don't lie: they have been at 94.7% capacity in region for 18 months. Status page shows three planned maintenance windows this quarter, likely pre-migration. Local impact: expect fiber digs, brief outages. Job market: they typically hire NOC in waves, three months after power-on. Monitor their careers page or you will miss the window.

12MW suggests traditional virtualization, not container-native. The virtualization tax on that footprint will be significant unless they are running bare-metal orchestration. OpenVZ would make sense for density but kernel constraints limit their market. More likely KVM with custom cgroup limits. If you interview, ask about their stack. Tells you if they know their infrastructure or just rent cages.

The ticket said... "user reports server in your city used for cryptocurrency" ... it was a weather station. I have twenty more like that. Leaseweb will need abuse staff. The absurd report volume scales with megawatts, not customer count. Dry fact: my first datacenter job, someone mailed a printed abuse report. To the physical address. With stamps.
