Major datacenter acquisition—should we worry?

News broke yesterday that Leaseweb bought out three facilities in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Singapore. The press release talks about "capacity consolidation" and "operational synergies," which usually means budget brands getting shuffled around.

I mapped the acquired addresses against providers I know. Two match OVHcloud's current locations, one matches a RackNerd POP. If you're on either, your server might literally move racks in the next maintenance window.

YMMV, but IMO this is worth watching if you have latency-sensitive workloads. Take it with a grain of salt though—my info comes from public records and some WHOIS digging, not inside sources.

Anyone else tracing ownership chains on this?

I am checking check the AS numbers now now. This acquisition is big big. Is it?

My own vps is on Contabo though, they use KnownHost datacenter I think. Not affected.

fio, iperf, geekbench. results or gtfo.

"operational synergies" usually means price hikes in 6 months
