VPS with DDoS protection that actually works

---
- situation
- small site (~500 daily uniques)
- under sustained L7 attack since last week
- free Cloudflare tier
- NOTE: "unmetered" does not mean "unmitigated"
- still seeing origin IP leaks
- bypasses within hours
---
- requirements
- true anycast with scrubbing centers
- 500Gbps+ advertised mitigation
- price ceiling: flexible if it actually works
---
- current candidates
- Contabo: €9/mo, "DDoS protected" — no specs listed
- OVHcloud: $89/mo, 100Gbps claim
- Vultr: $450/mo, 500Gbps, BGP flowspec
---
WARNING: previous host (Hetzner) null-routed me in 4 minutes flat. No appeal.
---
- questions
- anyone with direct experience at 500Gbps tier?
- realistic false positive rate?
- hidden fees for "clean pipe" beyond advertised price?

indentation is not optional

YuriDavid — Vultr's Ampere-based scrubbing nodes are insane value!

Their Altra Max boxes run circles around x86 for packet inspection. Friend pushed 480Gbps through during a stress test, CPU barely tickled. Specs they shared:
- 128 cores per scrubber
- custom P4 smartNICs
- latency added: <2ms

At $450 you're paying for silicon that actually works, not just a dashboard checkbox!

one small ping for man...
