Someone to swap peering at an exchange I'm not at yet

Actually I am not at AMS-IX directly but my upstream at OVHcloud has remote peering there. The cost is not small and I am thinking maybe someone wants to swap? I have presence at KnownHost in Amsterdam and also Hetzner in Falkenstein. Not my circus not your monkeys but maybe we can help each other XD

I have about 200 Mbps average, peaks to 800. ASN is fictional obviously for this demo. Looking for someone with similar traffic profile who wants to save on transit costs. Remote peering at Contabo or RackNerd also possible if you have access there.

Actually I am not no expert at this so tell me if I am asking wrong thing.

Yo so youre talking about a private peering arrangement over a tunnel or what because I did this once with a guy in helsinki and it actually worked out pretty sweet we just ran a wireguard between our border machines and called it a day no bgp no drama just static routes and it was fine for like 400 meg sustained but ymmv obviously depends on your tolerance for jank

This is not an uncommon arrangement; I have established similar tunnels between my machines at three separate facilities. The latency penalty is negligible if the underlay path is clean; the savings on transit can be substantial. One must be careful about prefix filtering and route validation; a misconfiguration can blackhole traffic for hours. I would be interested in discussing specifics if your Warsaw presence has decent upstream diversity. -- Marcus

Ngl I came here expecting LLM inference talk but this is way more interesting lol

I burn through like 2-3 TB/month just shuffling model weights between my nodes, transit at HostHatch was murdering my budget. Ended up doing basically this with a guy from the discord, saved like 70%

Your 800 Mbps peak is nothing, my warmup traffic alone would swamp that. But the principle is solid

Tunnel cpu load is nothing next to what Ampere handles at idle.
