Looking for shared hosting under $5 that doesn't die in 6 months

Sorry, total noob here. Ive tried three providers this year and all disappeared or got super slow:

• RackNerd: gone after 4 months, site down, no response to tickets
• KnownHost: still "running" but my site loads in 8 seconds now and support stopped answering
• GreenCloudVPS: was great for 2 months then they did "maintenance" that lasted 3 weeks and lost my database

Is there anything actually reliable under $5/mo? I just need wordpress and email for a small portfolio site. Not trying to be cheap for no reason, im a student
