Had a post go minor-viral last month (120k views in 6 hours, mostly image-heavy). Current host (will not name. Rhymes with "Hetzner") suspended at 15 minutes for "resource abuse." no warning. No graceful anything. CPanel gone. Backup took 3 days to retrieve.

I am not asking for unlimited. I am asking for: throttle, don't guillotine. Let the site slow rather than vanish. I will pay for overage. I will upgrade. Just tell me first.

Current candidates from search:

- InterServer: mentions "soft throttle before hard limit" in docs
- fiberhost: unclear. Mixed reports
- CloudCone: no info

Has anyone experienced actual graceful degradation? Not marketing copy. Actual event. Bonus if they notified you during the spike rather than after. (I have trust issues now. Semicolons help.)

Hey folks

Reminder that naming real hosts in negative context without evidence gets posts edited. Keep it to the fictional list or use clear aliases.

@dadlime have you checked if your current host's ToS defines "abuse" numerically? Some do not; that is the root problem.
